A Russian delegation of educators and textbook officials visited AKS on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 10 am.
The delegation consisted of secondary school principals and vice principals and textbook publishers from all over Russia, and they visited Korea on a program funded by the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs. They laid a foundation for exchange between Korea and Russia through visits to educational institutions, cultural sites, and industrial facilities. They chose Korean language as an area to expand in the Russian education system.
As part of their visit to Korea, the participants visited AKS to learn about the Academy and about the Understanding Korea Project. They also viewed the Jangseogak exhibit. The Russian delegation was led by Director Bae Gwi-ae (Korean Education Center at the Korean Embassy in Russia) and comprised a total of fourteen people including Makievskaya Natalia (principal of Richei, Moscow State Linguistic University), Smipnov Yury (history textbook editor, Prosveshvheniye Publishing), Daminofa Laica (principal of Lobachevsky Richei, Kazan Federal University).
This visit will promote lively exchange between AKS and Russian educational institutions. The delegation’s increased knowledge of Korea’s development will be directly reflected in Russia’s textbooks and education system.
